37 Port Street · Manchester
A taste of Eritrea & Ethiopia, brought home to Manchester — and a table where everyone is welcome.
Meet Our Founder
Asmara Bella was born from Samrawit's dream: to bring the food of her people to Manchester, and to build a place where community comes first.
"I wanted to bring my people's food to Manchester — but that's not all. I also wanted to create an environment in which we can all come together."
Every recipe is rooted in tradition and family, passed down through generations and prepared with the same care today on Port Street in the heart of the Northern Quarter.
Traditional recipes, spices and cooking methods passed down through generations of Eritrean & Ethiopian cooking.
Food meant to be shared from a common plate, bringing people together in the true spirit of hospitality.
Fresh, high-quality ingredients and dishes prepared with care — as authentic as they are unforgettable.
A Unique Way to Dine
At the heart of every meal is injera — a traditional sourdough flatbread made from teff that is eaten with your hands. It is both the plate and the utensil, soaking up our rich, slow-cooked stews.
Our dishes are built on berbere, a deep spice blend of chilli peppers, garlic, ginger and over a dozen other spices — the soul of East African flavour.
Traditionally, meals are shared from a common plate. It's more than eating — it's connection.
