It is not every day that a Manchester restaurant ends up on Netflix. But earlier this year, we were delighted when the production team behind Run Away – a Netflix original drama – chose Asmara Bella as a filming location.

We will not spoil the plot – but we are proud that our restaurant plays a small part in a story about family, culture, and belonging.

Being chosen as a filming location felt meaningful to us. The show deals with themes of identity, heritage, and the places that feel like home. That is precisely what Asmara Bella is about.
We are a restaurant, yes – but we are also a place where people come to connect with a culture, to share food the way it was meant to be shared, and to feel, for a few hours, like they belong somewhere warm and familiar.
